Breast procedure

Breast Augmentation

Also known as “augmentation mammoplasty” is typically performed to enlarge small, underdeveloped breasts or breasts that have decreased in size after a woman has had children. This procedure is accomplished by surgically inserting an implant behind each breast. Certainly, you can improve the size, shape, symmetry, and proportion of your breasts subtly, dramatically, or somewhere in between, as determined by your needs and goals.

Benefits and Risks

The primary benefit of breast augmentation is an increase in breast size and improved breast shape. This can boost a woman’s self-esteem and improve her confidence. Breast augmentation can also balance out asymmetrical breasts and restore breast volume after pregnancy or weight loss.

As with any surgery, there are risks associated with breast augmentation. These include infection, bleeding, scarring, and adverse reactions to anesthesia. There is also a risk of complications related to the implants themselves, such as implant rupture, implant displacement, and capsular contracture (the formation of scar tissue around the implant). It is important for women considering breast augmentation to carefully weigh the potential risks and benefits of the procedure and to choose a qualified, experienced surgeon who can minimize the risk of complications.

Safety and Recovery

Breast augmentation is generally considered safe when performed by a qualified, experienced surgeon in a properly equipped and accredited facility. However, as with any surgery, there is always a risk of complications, and it is important for women to be fully informed of the risks and benefits of the procedure before making a decision.

The recovery period following breast augmentation typically takes several weeks. Patients may experience some pain and discomfort, as well as swelling and bruising, in the days following surgery. Patients will need to avoid strenuous physical activity for several weeks and will need to wear a special supportive bra to help the breasts heal and maintain their shape.

Cost and Price Differences

The cost of breast augmentation varies depending on a number of factors, including the surgeon’s fees, the type of implants used, and the location of the surgery. In the United States, the cost of breast augmentation can range from $7,500 to $9,000 or more.

The cost of the procedure in Mexico is often significantly lower than in the United States, with prices ranging from 40% to 60% less.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is just one of several surgical procedures available for breast enhancement. Other options include breast lift surgery, which can improve breast shape and position without adding volume, and breast reduction surgery, which is used to reduce breast size in women with overly large breasts.

The breast augmentation procedure typically involves making incisions in the breast tissue and inserting the implants either behind or in front of the chest muscle. The incisions can be made in different locations, depending on the patient’s anatomy and the type of implants used. The surgeon will then carefully position the implants to create a natural-looking, symmetrical result. The entire procedure typically takes one to two hours to complete, and patients are usually able to go home the same day or the next day.
